Legal policies - Proof that lawyers indeed have a sense of humor

Excerpt from my laptop's warranty statement:

" (Company name) does not cover product issus caused by any other reason, including but not limited to product issues due to commercial use, acts of God, misuse, limitations of technology, or..." WHOA WHOA back that up a sec - "acts of God" ?! what is going on here! I understand that the world has a larger supply of religious nut jobs than the demands of humanity, but this is TOO MUCH.

    saw 'acts of god' and started laughing. realised, a line later, that it stopped u in ur tracks too. i am not sure it is simply a nut-job's effort.

    think about it: is a laptop's breakdown due to poor manufacturing an 'act of god'? it isn't clear!! that is exactly the point (perhaps!).

    disclaimers and advertisements have more and more become legal tools of misinforming / cheating the public.
