the road less travelled

a close friend of mine sent me this poem by robert frost about a man who stood at the intersection of a road. one side was well worn and jaded over the ages. The other was barely touched and looking pristine.

The traveller looked and decided to take the road unused. Many years later as he recounts his tale with a sigh, he says that made all the difference.

That story my friends, furthur confuses the confused mind. Should one strive to be different even if they have their backs up against the wall of society? Or shud one stick to the road well worn? People have been known to show resilience throughout the darkest most difficult times. George Bernard Shaw said " A life spent making mistakes is not only more honourable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing."

It sounds inspiring but is it really? Humans are selfish creatures. Their hapiness is imperative. Can making mistakes be of greater value than leading a relatively hassle free life of comfort with a occasional moments of longing? I don't know. But as I stand at the intersection of life I will tell you one day either with a sigh or a smile - that made all the difference.
